Research: Safeguards for Outsourced Public Review Drafting
How to separate useful drafting support from reputation and privacy decisions.
Finding: FTC guidance says advertising and endorsements should be truthful and not misleading. A public response should therefore be based on verified facts and avoid disclosing private customer information.
Method: classify a sample as routine, service recovery, privacy-sensitive, or legal-risk; check factual support; and record who approved the final response.
Implication: external support can draft from approved facts, while threats, legal notices, personal data, and compensation decisions need owner review. Sources: FTC, https://www.ftc.gov/business-guidance; NIST, https://www.nist.gov/cyberframework.
Limit: a response process cannot resolve the underlying service issue by itself.
